Apart from the usual matters I have been engaged in, here is a summary of some of the matters my firm has been engaged in over the last 18 months.

• Franchise dispute
  Federal Court of Australia, Full Court of the Federal Court of Australia, High Court of Australia - acting for a franchisee against a high profile franchisor - alleging unpaid commissions, unconscionable conduct, breaches of the franchise agreement.
  As a result of this case the Australian Competiton and Consumer Commission (ACCC) brought a successful class action against the franchisor. Acting for franchisees in mediations, negotiating terms of a new franchise agreement to be used by the franchisor for new and renewed franchises.
   
• Franchisors    
  Acting for franchisors in settling and administering franchise agreements and compliance issues. Preparing Master Franchise Agreements and setting up the franchise agreement model.
   
• Franchisees    
  Advising prospective franchisees, negotiating proposed franchise agreement and providing Section 11 certificates.
   
• Retail leases    
  Administrative Decisions Tribunal - acting for a lessee with its dispute against a lessor in a well known CBD shopping centre. Advising on proposed retail leases, acting for lessors and lessees generally on wide ranging issues including compliance and enforcement.
   
• Building disputes    
  Consumer Trader & Tenancy Tribunal - acting for owners and builders - building defects in residential buildings, acting for owners corporation in a strata development, negotiations between parties ending in settlement deeds and conducting cases to successful, full hearings.
   
• Building disputes negotiations    
  Negotiating a successful outcome for a contractor against the project manager on a large industrial development and a civil construction contractor against a project manager on another large industrial development.
   
• Small to medium size corporations    
  Incorporating companies for clients, advising and preparing shareholders' agreements, advising re corporate disputes, ASIC compliance issues.
   
• Fraud Litigation    
  Successfully acting for a client who was the subject of a fraud scam.
   
• Purchase of publishing house    
  Providing advice, negotiating, drawing up contracts and generally assisting with the process of purchasing a web based and print publishing house.
